Construction Update

All items for the elevator inspection have been completed, and we are waiting for a new date from the state for the inspector to come out.  Once the elevator inspection is successfully completed, we will develop a schedule for moving third- and fourth-grade classrooms to the second floor.

We are currently waiting for PG&E to upgrade the gas line at the Google preschool so we can connect the Vargas MUR to gas. In order to keep this process at the forefront for PG&E, our Chief Business Officer Rebecca Westover has a weekly meeting scheduled with them. We don’t currently have a completion timeline from them, but we continue to work diligently with PG&E.

The field at Vargas is currently open for use by students during the school day. There will still be some construction fencing present as crews put the finishing touches on the field, and a combination of permanent and temporary fencing at the front along North Whisman Rd.

Thank you for your continued patience.

There are many opportunities in Mountain View for students to enrich their learning afterschool or during school breaks. With safety and consistency in mind, our school newsletter and website will advertise only District-, school- and PTA-sponsored events and activities. While we recognize that there are many providers of enrichment activities who use our campus, we may promote only those that follow specific MVWSD parameters for safety and supervision.

The District provides inplay.org as a resource to parents who are seeking additional learning opportunities for their students. To view student enrichment activities, school break and afterschool classes in our community that are not hosted by MVWSD, please see our partner, https://www.inplay.org/r/mountain-view/.
