Wise Word March 27, 2020

Principal’s Message:

Dear Golden Owls,

By now, all teachers have reached out to families with communication regarding suggestions for ways you can continue learning while schools are closed. Please remember that these are optional resources to use in ways that make sense for your family. As Dr. Rudolph said in his message to you Tuesday, we know you are all balancing work, family, and very different daily lives.

The highlight of my week has been joining the virtual meetings our teachers are hosting. This reaffirmed to me that while we are all adjusting to our new work from home schedules, it is important to remember the power of the human connection. I can’t wait to see you as part of my daily routine once again.

Stay healthy,

Principal Taylor

Emotional, logistics support resources for families

Our School Community Engagement Facilitators have teamed up to provide a list of resources for families. Sheltering in place and not being in our regular routines of work and school can be hard on our emotional and mental health, in addition to making access to meals, rent payments and other typical activities more difficult.

From the City: Sign up to get regular COVID-19 updates

The City of Mountain View’s strategic communications team is offering regular updates about COVID-19 response and resources. Residents may text 'MVCOVID' to 22828 to have the digest sent right to their emails every day. Here is the link to the latest issue. The City’s COVID-19 response and resources webpage is www.mountainview.gov/covid

Make sure you’re counted! The U.S. Census is coming up

It’s crucial that we all participate, because an accurate count of residents is important for funding our community’s public resources, planning for the future, and for our voice in government. We all want to make sure that Mountain View gets the funding, services, and business support we need.

Here's how the Census works (video)
