Principal’s Message:

Dear Golden Owls,

A year ago, we closed schools for what we thought was a brief period of time.  At that time, little did we know our way of living would be fundamentally changed. While I know we have seen a lot of loss and there was disruption to our normal lives, we have also seen how quickly our community can adapt and evolve. Our community was able to persevere and learn new skills that have allowed us to be better equipped to handle a change.

Next week, brings another change to our school community. We get to welcome back students to on-campus instruction. We are thrilled to have our students back on campus, but it is important all of you know the protocols and procedures for safely returning to campus. Yesterday I reviewed the reopening plan for Vargas. If you were unable to attend the meeting, you can find the presentation here and a video recording here. You can also find access to the full plan on our School Website here. If you are planning to attend instruction on campus, please review and practice effective hand-washing and face mask wearing protocols with your child.

In Partnership,

Principal  Taylor

Women’s History Month - Flyer

In the month of March, we are celebrating Women’s History. BetterTogether recognizes the people, movements, and ideas that challenge expectations and gender stereotypes that negatively affect us all. From women’s suffrage to the gender equality movements of modern day, it has become clear that when we all fight gender inequality, we all win. Celebrate this month by having meaningful conversations with your students, your children, and your fellow s(heroes). In addition to the infographic, this month we will also be highlighting amazing women from our organization and learning about the s(heroes) that have inspired their own commitment to gender equality.

For a closer look at this month’s infographic, click on the attached flyers or visit https://www.mvwsd.org/bettertogetherMVWSD.
