English Learner Advisory Committee (ELAC)
According to California law, all K-12 public schools with 21 or more English learners must form a functional English Learner Advisory Committee. The ELAC is an elected committee for parents or other community members who want to advocate for English Learners. Its purpose is to advise the principal, school staff, and the School Site Council on programs and services for English Learners.

ELAC is a bridge in between the school, parents and teachers. The committee works with the school to provide information to the parents and gives a voice to our community to project questions or concerns and rely the message to our principal and school staff. As well as we are responsible for advise the principal on the necessities of our families or English learners.

Any parent can participate or be a member of the ELAC committee. Participate in discussions and workshops designed to help you identify the most effective way to support your student.

ELAC's goal is student success.

If you're interested in joining ELAC, please contact our school principal vtaylor@mvwsd.org.
